Tulle Halloween Wreath!

For the last several years, I really haven't cared much for Halloween.  However, one of the things I remember most from being a kid was my mom having us decorate the house for the holidays and her huge holiday wreaths!  Being a mom now, I thought it would be nice to carry on that tradition for my son, including the huge holiday wreaths part.  So I found a picture of this online in black and decided to dress it up with some more "spooky" colors for Halloween.

All you need for this is 2 yards of each color of tulle (I got mine a Walmart), a medium sized embroidery hoop (I found mine at Robert's Crafts Store), colored ribbon and scissors.  Cut the tulle into short strips, fold it in half, loop in around the hoop, and pull tight!  When you are done, you have a pretty and "spooky," not to mention, massive wreath for the holiday!

Chocolate Caramel Brownies...

Lately I have been trying my hand at baking.  The latest craving, chocolate caramel brownies.  I found this recipe on allrecipies.com and just had to try it!  I did, however, adjust the ingredient measurements and line my Pyrex dish so I wouldn't have a huge sticky mess to deal with later.  They turned out great and my husband and his friends gobbled them down.

Enjoy!

Chocolate Caramel Brownies

Ingredients:

1 box of chocolate cake mix
1 12 oz. can of Evaporated Milk
1 Bag of  Milk Chocolate chips (use to sprinkle, don't use the whole bag)
14 oz. of individually wrapped carmels
6 tbsp. butter (melted)
Nuts (your choice)

First, pre-heat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.  Grease your choice of Pyrex dish or line with foil and then grease. While oven is warming up, unwrap all carmel candies and put them into a cold sauce pan, then add 3 1/2 tbsp. of evaporated milk.  Put left over evaporated milk aside, you will use the rest with the cake mix.  Melt caramel mixture on medium to low heat until saucy, stir constantly.  For the brownie mixture, mix together the dry cake mix, melted butter, and the remainder of the evaporated milk.  Mix all the ingredients together until it is the consistency of brownie batter.  Using half of the brownie mix, put in the bottom of the pan and cook in oven for 10 minutes (you will use the rest later).  After brownies have been in the oven for 10 minutes, pull them out, sprinkle with chocolate chips, drizzle caramel mixture, and then top with the remaining brownie mixture.  You will have to scoop mixture onto the top, then mix around to cover evenly.  Then put brownies back into the oven for another 20 to 25 minutes. Near the end of cook time, sprinkle brownies with more chocolate chips or nuts, or combination of both.  Let brownies sit for about and hour and a half before serving.
